Debian Wheezy users will need to get libssl0.9.8 from Debian Squeeze or unstable. For PowerEdge 12G servers, it is highly recommended that you are running Ubuntu 12.04 or later due to better driver coverage. Below, you will find instructions on how to install and setup OpenManage command-line and web interfaces.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2>IMPORTANT NOTE FOR UPGRADING:<\/h2>\nIf you are upgrading, in step 4, you must use\u00a0<strong>apt-get install\u00a0<em><meta-package name><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>apt-get dist-upgrade<\/strong>. Do not use\u00a0<strong>apt-get upgrade<\/strong>, as doing so will not upgrade all the necessary packages.<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Installation\/Upgrade<strong>:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>1.\u00a0 (Optional for Upgrade) Create a new file ending in &#8216;sources.list&#8217; in the &#8216;\/etc\/apt\/sources.list.d&#8217; directory. Cut and paste the command below. (If typing by hand, note carefully the spacing.)<\/p>\n<blockquote><strong>echo &#8216;deb http:\/\/linux.dell.com\/repo\/community\/deb\/latest \/&#8217; | sudo tee -a \/etc\/apt\/sources.list.d\/linux.dell.com.sources.list<\/strong><\/blockquote>\n<p>2.\u00a0 To verify OMSA packages, add the repository key to apt. Note that you must re-do this step if upgrading from OMSA 6.5 because a new key is being used.<\/p>\n<blockquote><strong>gpg &#8211;keyserver pool.sks-keyservers.net &#8211;recv-key 1285491434D8786F<\/strong><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><strong>gpg -a &#8211;export 1285491434D8786F | sudo apt-key add &#8211;<\/strong><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>If you are behind a firewall that only allows outbound traffic over port 80, you may need to use this instead:<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><strong>gpg &#8211;keyserver hkp:\/\/pool.sks-keyservers.net:80 &#8211;recv-key 1285491434D8786F<\/strong>\u00a0(possibly needing to add &#8220;&#8211;keyserver-options http-proxy=http:\/\/<user>:<password>@<proxy>:<port>&#8220;)<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><strong>gpg -a &#8211;export 1285491434D8786F | sudo apt-key add &#8211;<\/strong><\/blockquote>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Make apt aware of the new software repository by issuing the following command:<\/p>\n<blockquote><strong>sudo apt-get update<\/strong><\/blockquote>\n<p>4.\u00a0 Install one of the following selection of meta-packages to install the OMSA functionality you require:<\/p>\n<blockquote><em>srvadmin-all<\/em>:Install all OMSA components\n\n<em>srvadmin-base<\/em>:Install only base OMSA, no web server\n\n<em>srvadmin-rac4<\/em>:Install components to manage the Dell Remote Access Card 4\n\n<em>srvadmin-rac5<\/em>:Install components to manage the Dell Remote Access Card 5\n\n<em>srvadmin-idrac<\/em>:Install components to manage iDRAC\n\n<em>srvadmin-idrac7<\/em>:Install components to manage iDRAC7\n\n<em>srvadmin-webserver<\/em>:Install Web Interface\n\n<em>srvadmin-storageservices<\/em>:Install RAID Management<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>For example, to install all of OMSA:\u00a0<strong>sudo apt-get install srvadmin-all<\/strong>\n\n<em>If you are upgrading, you must use\u00a0<strong>apt-get install<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>apt-get dist-upgrade<\/strong>. Do not use\u00a0<strong>apt-get upgrade<\/strong>, as doing so will not upgrade all the necessary packages.<\/em><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>CLI:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>dataeng<\/strong>\u00a0service starts automatically at reboot. If you want to manually start the service, issue the command below.<\/p>\n<ol>\n    <li><strong>sudo service dataeng start<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li>Now, you can use\u00a0<strong>omreport<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>omconfig<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>omhelp\u00a0<\/strong>commands.<\/li>\n    <li>For example, you can issue\u00a0<strong>omreport system summary<\/strong>\u00a0to get details about your system.<\/li>\n    <li>You can use\u00a0<strong>omconfig\u00a0<\/strong>to configure component properties.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>omhelp<\/strong>\u00a0provides help information for commands.<\/li>\n    <li>See\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/support.dell.com\/support\/edocs\/software\/svradmin\/7.1\/en\/CLI\/PDF\/CLIUG.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">OpenManage CLI User&#8217;s Guide<\/a>\u00a0for comprehensive documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Web Interface:<\/h3>\n<p>To use web interface, users with appropriate permissions need to be added.<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Add users with appropriate permissions to\u00a0<em>\/opt\/dell\/srvadmin\/etc\/omarolemap<\/em>\u00a0file.
